3AM Ramblings from a Mom of (almost) 5

Today started out like any other day--

Got up and sent one to school.
Took the other three to Target and the library.
Picked up preschool kiddo.
Served peanut butter sandwiches, raisins and walnuts, and frozen strawberries for lunch.
I may have let the girls have a picnic in our living room...

I vacuumed, did the dishes, and a load of laundry during naps.
And then we headed to our 39 week check up. All was going swimmingly until my bp was taken. The doctor wasn't too fond of either reading--130/80 and 150/???. My average is somewhere between 100-110/60-70. Combine this with protein in my UA and we were given a ticket to induction land.

We dropped our girls back off at home with my mom, and we gathered a few more items we still needed to pack. Then, Matt and I headed to grab a sandwich. Finally around 8:30 we got into our hospital room. But before changing into my gown, I again asked my husband for a few maternity shots.

I took this one... obviously!

Once we were settled in, I asked for a foot massage--and got one! Thanks super-husband! I talked with my mom, checked in on facebook and even chatted with my sis. Oh, and I also may have watched an hour or so of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

I tried to nod off, but some contractions kept popping up. There's no pitocin as of now, just good ol' cervadil. But the contractions (mild and not very regular) are keeping my sleep at bay. Add to that the severe pain this come-apart bed puts me in and I'm just ready to start walking the halls to go into labor! But I kinda forgot a robe...

So, I decided to write a post for the blog. I'm also looking for several other things to do to keep entertained between my contractions--ideas? Suggestions, anybody?

The husband is asleep, the bed SUCKS, I'm hungry, and I'm bored. And it's 3 AM. Just four more hours and I can have an awake husband, maybe get out of this bed some more, eat and have some entertainment back--I'm thinking the Food Network will have something to keep me entertained if nothing else!
