It's true what
they say about the kitchen being the one room in the house where it's all
at!
As we continue to inch closer and closer to this little baby's arrival, I have been trying to double some recipes so I have food in the freezer when Missy makes her arrival.
So if you'd been peeking in my kitchen this past week, you'd see that there have been several messes, several pots and dishes with sauces and such, and several sweet babies running around.

Here's some enchilada sauce (homemade I might add) simmering away.

And here is the nifty little cheese grater that my husband got me for Christmas.
My cupeth overfloweth! But can you really blame me. Who doesn't like cheese covering their enchiladas?

Oh, and about those enchiladas... I apparently didn't heat the corn tortillas long enough (actually I think I put too many in the microwave at once) because they started to crack when I tried rolling them up.

So I ended up making an enchilada casserole for dinner that night. The
cracked enchiladas went to the freezer!

MMM.... We did gobble up the casserole!

And I wrapped up the
cracked enchiladas and labeled them. Note the absence of the sauce on the enchiladas in the picture above? I decided I should make a note for myself (or my husband, in case he's in charge of dinner on the night we have these) on the foil---can you read it?

And wouldn't you like to know what caused this mess? Can you see Pioneer Woman's cookbook sprawling it's loveliness across my floured island? And if you really know me, you must know that there are a few exceptions to my
whole-wheat flour only rule...

Hmmm.... a rolling pin...

Are those empty butter wrappers?

A frothy pot soaking in the sink...

It must be none other than cinnamon rolls!

I've been promising the girls that these beauties would be making an appearance on their breakfast/lunch/dinner plate sometime soon...

And finally I caved. I mean...
wouldn't you?
Despite my
I only cook one meal per day the remainder of this pregnancy rule, I made these bad boys... it seems I make a few exceptions to a few rules when I make the rolls!
And in case you've never tried these cinnamon rolls, they answer is
YES, they do taste as good as they look!
Oh Yes, they're a little slice of heaven!
And since I've let the cat out of the bag about me only cooking one meal per day the rest of these big belly days, you gotta know that there's a flurry of activity in my kitchen beyond the cooking!

We also eat... YES, even on the counters. On this particular day, Boushka and I were the only souls in the house. So we did something a little different... just to switch it up a bit!

We also show off our latest dance moves! This girl loves to do a little dancing just about every minute of every day!

And I know you can't tell in this picture, but we even snuggle up on our Grammy in the kitchen. We don't discriminate--any room in our house is completely appropriate for some snuggles!
What activities do you do in your kitchen?
