Trip 3 to the Hospital!

*these pictures look odd on my computer. I can't tell if it's the lovely hospital lighting (in the picture) or the lovely hospital lighting (that I'm in right now)! Anyway, excuse the poor color/lighting!

Fifth pregnancy/baby!

Third time here (the hospital) with this pregnancy/baby.

So I ended up getting sent home Saturday night after being in the hospital for over 24 hours. There were way too many patients and not enough staff. And guess who never got their pitocin due to this shortage problem...? Yep, it was me!

One nurse commented that this scenario had never happened in her 5 years working here. And even my doc said she'd never sent anybody home due to the fact that there were not enough nurses.

It was after 11pm when we finished up our "calm down" talk with our doctor. The weather was less than nice. We were exhausted...

Needless to say I'm glad it's over and I got an extra day of rest!

So here we are again. We came in at 7:30 this morning and the pitocin was started around 9. My water broke at 12:45. I had about 1.5 hours of good contractions with the pit minus my water situation, and then the heart beat drama started again. Except instead of tachycardia, she was experiencing some major dips--like in the 60's-90's with/after each contraction. So the pit was stopped and I was flipping sides--left, right, then left again. She liked the left!
And the pitocin is back up and running now that her hb was normal for an hour on my left side. I had to start back at the beginning with 2 milliunits at 3:35--I'm up to 6 now. This is going way too incredibly slow for me. I really wanted this baby to be born by now! But I know in a few hours I'll forget about all this and just stare at her in awe.
I can't wait!
