We have officially completed our first week of life with my Little K-- in fact, we're darn near the completion of week 2. During our time at home, there have been several ups and a few downs, but we all know that I wouldn't trade any of these moments for anything in the world.
We came home on Wednesday, March 2 to a house full of eager sisters. And our first night at home went something like this...
We attempted to get sleep, but this little girl was starving. My milk hadn't come in yet, but we were working on that once an hour. After pulling an all-nighter with screams and cries, I finally sent my poor husband to the store at 6am to purchase some formula. And BAM! problem was solved immediately upon receiving 2 oz of baby formula! She slept... finally!
Her first outing happened on Friday, March 4 when we went to the doctor's office. She was 100% healthy. She was 20 inches long (she shrunk an inch???) and only down to 7lbs 8 oz (born at 7lbs 15 oz). That's exactly what she weighed on discharge day. I'm pretty sure I have formula to thank for her good weight!
Her first non-doctor-visit outing was on March 6 to Babies R Us and the grocery store. We went out as a family of 7 for the first time. It was fun to see how the logistics were working out---and I say fun because my husband was there to assist--- okay, he was there doing most of the work!

Earlier that same day, we had company over. My sister-in-law and her two kiddos came to town for a visit. And Matt's grandparents were able to stop over as well!
(This look on her face pretty much sums up how she felt about her first bath--like Ummm, hey peeps! I'm freezin' cold here! Could ya hurry it up?)She also had her first bath last weekend. It was mostly a cry fest, but she did pretty well. There were no seriously tragic moments... although these pictures may paint an entirely different story.
See...
Our second week at home has been busy too. We've had several friends and some family stop by to visit.
Miss Heidi from ImageWise Photography came by to shoot our One Week Old Picutres (They are just too darn cute!) Thank you, Heidi. You are AWESOME!!!
I can't believe how lucky and blessed we've been by our sweet friends and family. They've brought food, gifts for me, and gifts for the baby. I've even been able to go out with a dear friend for some chit chat over peanut butter pie (Thank you, Traci). I've had some friends offer to take the girls to the park, or to a movie, or to one of our many weekly commitments. My MIL has watched our girls and taken them to and from places. And my own mom has filled in wherever she's been needed... and oh my, has she been needed.
As if having a healthy, sweet baby didn't make me feel blessed enough, it's the kindness of all those we love who make us feel even more blessed. Praise be to God for all the love we feel. I only hope to pass it on.

Your welcome Lara! Thank you for letting me hold, cuddle and love on that baby girl of yours. She melted my heart, warmed my soul and brought me sweet memories of my baby boy (thanks to her sweet smelling binky). You are so blessed, Lara, I just hope I get another chance soon to snuggle her and chat with you. Love you both! -Traci
