The last of our first part of VACATION

Oh my. Insert typical slacker excuse here______________________.

Here's the rest of our trip in Western Kansas. We visited Fort Hays!

My poor kids will always have plenty of educational opportunities on family vacations. Sorry, it's in the nerd gene I guess I have!

But what kid doesn't want to see history come alive? These kids were cool with the place until we were done trying on old Union soldier uniforms.

Because after we were done trying on uniforms,

history kind of like...
came alive... and started speaking! There were characters staged throughout the prison that told stories. A little to real for some people!

So they refused to go through the rest of the old prison at the Fort. I will admit, I was a little freaked out too!
We continued to walk around the grounds while I made them pose for pictures. They loved me for it.

At least, that's what they say every night! HA!

There are some buffalo right across the street from the Fort.  Yes, we thought they were so cool!

But not as cool as the pool!

All of the girls except sweet Boushka loved the water. It took her several days to get comfortable with the water! But she ended up loving it (as you'll see if you stay tuned for the rest of my vacation posts!).
Bug is a splash machine. All of the older three girls were timid in their swimming lessons. I throw them in the pool on vacation and they act like old pros!

Scrunchie loved hanging out in the pool with daddy!

This girl, yes the one jumping in all willy nilly, was so scared to jump in the pool unassisted in swimming lessons. No, I'm not lying!

This is my adventurous one! In and out of the pool!

We left town around lunch time on our last day so we could get home in time to do some laundry, re-pack, and head out to our softball awards night. This was not the best picture of my team and me, but I look the least chunky/preggo in it, so that's all you get to see! HAHAHA!
