Our summer break is into the third week. We have been super busy--as usual--but it's been fun!

Peach had Science Camp the very first week of summer break. She had to be ready to leave the house at 7:40 every morning--that's 30 minutes earlier than school days. What a way to start summer vacation, huh? But I think she thinks it was all worth it! She absolutely loved science camp. They had pond day, hiking, bug day, bird day, etc. It was all environmental science, so it was pretty hands on. She even caught a dragonfly (and shortly thereafter, relased it).

When asked about her favorite part, Peach replied that pond day was the best because she almost caught a frog, and she learned a lot about frogs that she didn't already know! I'm thrilled she had fun because I'd love for any or all of my daughters to be in this field someday. There are fewer females than males in this field, so I'm thinking a girl would be sought after for study programs and the like. But really, if it makes her heart happy--then I'm happy.

The next week, all three older girls had soccer camp.

Brownie and Bug were in the same group, but Peach will be moving up in the fall--so she was with the older kids.

Her camp was also twice as long as Brownie and Bug's. The girls have really taken off with soccer. This is Bug's first real experience with the sport, so the fact that she was the most excited everyday about soccer camp was exciting for me. I love seeing them get excited to try new things--I love when they don't hesitate or shy away from a new adventure.

In the midst of the camps, we've been swimming,

 had cookouts, eaten s'mores

been cooped in the basement at bedtime due to threatening weather

 played softball

and said "hello" and "goodbye" to Auntie. And oh yeah, had a dance recital.

The recital was so cute. The two big girls dance in the same tap and ballet classes. Peach takes Jazz. And then Bug has her own tap and ballet classes. Needless to say--we had plenty of costumes for our recent recital.

The week of Memorial Day they had studio rehersals on Wednesday, reherslas at the Arts Center on Thursday, dress rehersals at the Arts Center on Friday (until 9pm--actually, it ran over a bit), and then the big performance was on Saturday afternoon. The girls did fantastic! I truly enjoyed watching every minute of their dances!

Peach and Brownie's ballet song was "Colors of the Wind"
Peach and Brownie's tap song was "Ever Ever After"
Peach's Jazz song was "Hakuna Matata"
Bug's ballet song was "Cinderella's Workshop"
Bug's tap song was "Kiss the Girl"

Yes, in case you are wondering these are all Disney songs. Their little section of the recital was called Happily Ever After. Besides all the sisters, Mom and Dad, both Grandmas, Papa, and Auntie came to see them dance. We were early enough to get seats in the very front row! Loved this!

We went to grab some Chinese food after the big dance. By the time we got home we were wiped out. We'd already welcomed Auntie home and celebrated Grammy's birthday the day before--and now we had to get ready for the gender reveal the next day! Yes, it was a busy weekend.

Here are some pics from mom's birthday. Before celebrating her birthday I had my 25 wk appointment, and after her dinner the girls had to scurry over to rehersals. So we squeezed in dinner, but left cake and presents for after rehersals. My sister and the girls frosted a roll of toilet paper to make it look like mom had her own little cake.

She started to cut into it and we all began laughing.

Bug almost blew the surprise a couple of times--but Grammy was a good sport! We did have a real cake for her too, as well as some presents!

That catches us up through the first two weeks of summer--of course, I only hit on the major events. But I'll fill in what's missing!
