Are they all yours?
Are you trying for a boy?
You must have your hands full.
How old are they all?
Are any of them twins?
And quite frankly, the twin question is one of the most popular questions. Ever since my oldest two were 2ish and 3ish, people asked if they were twins--especially if one of them was standing and the other sitting (anything that could throw a height comparison off). This continued when my third child turned 2ish and my second child was 3ish. Again, people began asking if Brownie and Bug were twins.
I know they look as if they could be about the same age (and most people assume I didn't have babies a year apart), and I assume this is why they get mistaken for twins. But I must also admit that they all resemble each other. Let's face it, they all have a petite stature, big and dark eyes, and a similar complexion. There's no foolin' me-- I know they look similar.
One of the coolest, and one often times one of the most confusing things about being a mom to lots of tiny people, is recognizing how similar your children look. For example, here is Brownie in the summer of 2008---this is right about the same age that Boushka is now.

Do you see any resemblance to the Boushka we know and love at 20-21 months of age?
And just to throw in another comparison for good measure, here is one of Boushka and one of Brownie. I just can't get over how much they can resemble each other.

All of this comparing has me wondering which side of the family our newest baby will favor--- or maybe she'll be a great mix of all her relatives-- or should I say sisters?

Baby Peach at about 3 months old.
Having watched all of these beautiful girls grow and change during the last 5 1/2 years, I also notice how as an infant one of them will resemble one sister. Yet, as they grow into a toddler, they begin to look like yet another sister. Just boggles my mind....
And when people ask if any of them are twins, my favorite response is
No, unless you're speaking of the Irish variety!
I'm not sure if many people know what I'm talking about when I mention Irish twins, but I say it anyway.

First: I'm appalled that people would ask "are you trying for a boy?" I wonder what they would say if you said yes!
I never realized how much your girls look alike until you posted the pics. I guess from reading your blog and seeing pics of them regularly, I see them as 4 distinct little girls; however, I can see how people would mistake them for twins. It's funny how genetics work! They're so cute!
I've had a few Irish twins over the years. As a teacher, it's cool when I have a student that I love and then next year I have the younger sib. Not so cool when it's a student you don't love....
You make bueatiful girls Lara! I can't wait to meet your next one...soon! YAY!!!
And by bueatiful I meant Beautiful! Opps. I was NOT a English major!
i just cannot wait to see how this new babe fits into the sisterhood!
