Signs of the Season

My windows were open all day.

My kids spent half of the day outside.

The sun overwhelmed my kitchen.

I had the car windows down.

I bought some Easter candy.

I previewed the summer preschool programs offered by our city.

I did three loads of laundry and then remembered I could have dried the clothes outside.

We grilled outside: mmmmmm, salmon.

We wore sandals, skirts or shorts, and t-shirts.

We broke a sweat.

The kids' faces and hands (especially nails) were filthy.

I was half-tempted to turn on the air-- I didn't; I'm really not that much of a wuss!

I wished I could have taken my run outside today (but was thankful for the alternative: my treadmill and the t.v.)

Can't. Hardly. Wait. Until. Farmer's. Market. Opens!!!!!! I'm bouncing off the walls with anticipation, as are my older children!

I lit spring- scented candles.

I need to (but haven't yet) get everyone's summer/spring clothes up out of the basement. That's only about 5 tubs!!

We had our house sprayed for bugs!

I perused the "one-year-old" aisle of the party store. So neat to have a spring baby (after having three autumn babies).

I'm anticipating the arrival of my seasonal allergies. Thank goodness for antihistamines.

I had to end on a positive note. Don't get me wrong, allergies definitely suck; yes, I just said suck, because really, they do!--- but, I'm terribly relieved that my favorite meds are sold OTC these days! I can actually remember walking my college campus (wide and expansive) in early fall and early spring with sneezing fits lasting up to 10 or 15 minutes. I didn't even bother to wear make up during these times because I would have it all rubbed off after being out side for 1 minute. Before my OTC Zyrtec, allergies would knock me out and put me on the couch with a box of tissues in one hand, and my other hand would be pushing on pressure points in my face to relieve sinus pressure. It interrupted everything about my life. I'm so lucky and blessed to live in a time where I have access to antihistamines that actually work! Again, I had to end of that positive note.

What are your signs of the season?
