More than Mothering

It's the middle of summer in the Midwest-- which means the weather can change in an instant!

One day we can enjoy the pool all while applying and re-applying obnoxious amounts of sunscreen.

We can splash in fountains!


And splash some more.

And play on the slides in the itty-bitty baby pool.

And the next day is spent mostly indoors because it is raining.

So we construct the most awesomest fort this house has ever seen.

It really looks like my house is a complete mess, but really there's just a mess under the big blue sheet. The fort is filled with blankets, pillows, books and favorite stuffed animals. Sharing these memories with my babes is so much more fun that worrying about if my floors are clean.

With my sneaky PI skills, I carefully crept up to the most awesomest fort and captured the interior with my camera. Hey, I don't know about you, but this was my most favortist way to spend a rainy afternoon when I was a child.

The remainder of our day will be spent playing the matching alphabet game, practicing writing Peach's name, exercising (during nap time) and baking pumpkin cookies. We recently made pumpkin bread and we have 1/2 the puree left-- seriously, what's a momma to do-- oh, yeah, make pumpkin cookies. We'll let you know how they taste!
